GibbsCAM Froze on Tool Tile Click
To resolve the issue where GibbsCAM freezes or locks up specifically when you click on a Tool Tile, the primary culprit is almost always a conflict with the Nahimic Service.
This audio service is often pre-installed on systems from MSI, ASUS, or Dell (Alienware). It uses an "On-Screen Display" (OSD) or overlay feature that interferes with how GibbsCAM renders its tool selection windows, causing the software to hang indefinitely.
Recommended Solution: Disable the Nahimic Service
- In the Windows Search bar, type "services.msc", and press Enter.
- Locate Nahimic Service in the list.
- Right-click it and select Properties.
- Change the Startup type to Disabled.
- Click the Stop button to end the service immediately.
- Click Apply and OK.
